“Generasians” Cook-Along

Liv Wu, founder of cooking school Liv, Cook, Eat, will talk about the keys to cooking improvisationally, how to build umami, and how to eat seasonally, sustainably, and with flavor. Her son, Erling Wu-Bower, chef/owner of Pacific Standard Time in Chicago, will also join us for this special Mother’s Day Cook-Along. This will include recipe demos and items from The Essential Asian Pantry Box.

After the screening of Generasian episode, there is a Q&A Session featuring:

Recommended Ingredients for this Cook-Along:

  • Salad green, or salad mix, or a medley of greens (lettuce, cabbage, spinach, kale, arugula)

  • Oil: Extra virgin salad oil, other fresh pressed oil or neutral vegetable oil

  • Salt or various salts

  • Lemon juice or vinegar(s)

  • Sugar, maple syrup or other sweetener

  • Dried or fresh herbs or spice

  • Red snapper or any other protein. Large portabello mushroom for vegetarians

  • Soy Sauce, miso, fish sauce or anchovy paste

  • Brown or white rice, or any whole-grain (such as quinoa), cooked

  • Sambal

  • Lime

  • Serrano chili

  • Scallions
