We are bling bling dumpling, a Los Angeles handcrafted food company that sources local, organic ingredients. We are true foodies, taught authentic Chinese cooking by our Taiwanese mothers and grandmothers. The dumpling, and dim sum, literally means “to touch your heart” and bling bling delivers the love.

Inspired by handmade street food while on a trip back to Taiwan, we have merged family recipes with new and inventive flavorings. Our menu includes fusion dim sum, addictive dipping sauces, fresh organic salads, and sweet bites. We have something for the heartiest of vegans to the most discerning of omnivores.

With a fresh take on the dim sum cart, we offer various mobile presentations featuring dumplings, combo dim sum, and dessert carts. These can be combined with a stationary food bar. Using eco-friendly paper products to serve large parties, or small plates to give your event a refined edge, we customize to fit your needs. The bling team adds a unique flavor to events of all kinds. Talk to us about bringing the bling to your next event or dinner party!

What tasting are you serving? Why/how do you think this will pave the next wave of food trends?

This year we will serve Danzi Noodles (擔仔麵) - light pork broth stew, with thin noodles, minced pork, and topped with a prawn. This is a authentic soup from the culinary center and oldest city in Taiwan, Tainan. Tainan is the birthplace of street foods in Taiwan, and I remember trying this dish for the first time when I was in 2nd grade. The name of this dish translates to “shoulder pole noodle” - how the fisherman carried the dish into the village. I believe the new wave is the OLD wave of food trends. This dish is over 130 years old and a true soul food of Asian culture. When we cook with our history, our hearts, and our stories of home - we make and share food that tells the story of our culture.

What does the future of Asian food look like?

The future of Asian food is going back to our roots - classic flavors that celebrate fresh ingredients, simple flavors, and handmade foods. My roots are with rice farmers in Taiwan, and my grandmother had a noodle soup street cart business to feed the people of the village. As I spend more time learning about Taiwanese foods, I feel most pulled to create the classic and historical dishes and flavors from my childhood.
