Balut at Maharlika

I ate my first balut at Maharlika in the East Village. It was much better tasting than I expected. Lots of yolk sitting in a broth and the baby duck of course which had a texture and taste almost like foie gras. They are doing some very interesting and very tasty modernized versions of classic Filipino dishes. The cocktails are very satisfying as well. 20120803-005357.jpg
