Born in the northern region of Asturias and raised outside of Barcelona, José Andrés is an internationally-recognized culinary innovator, passionate advocate for food and hunger issues, author, television personality and chef/owner of ThinkFoodGroup.

Andrés is the mastermind behind a bevy of renowned dining concepts, including Jaleo, The Bazaar, and China Poblano. Andrés trained in Michelin-starred restaurants including elBulli with world-renowned Master Chef and friend Ferran Adrià before making his way to the U.S. to “help create the Spanish food boom in America.” In 2008, ThinkFoodGroup partnered with SBE Hotel Group and designer Philippe Starck to create a new luxury hotel experience, SLS, with locations in Beverly Hills and Miami.

Andrés has received numerous awards and accolades and appears regular on television. Recently, Andrés joined the board of directors of the National Archives and currently teaches at the Harvard School of Engineering and Applied Sciences as part of the course “Science and Cooking.”
